Skate Park Fun Day

What do you get when you bring a town of talented youth together? Throw in some music, sausage sizzles, drinks and loads of great prizes? You get a whole lot of fun!!

The 2010 MyTag Matamata Fun day proved to be an overwhelming success! A large number of our young people, families, and many curious onlookers stopped to see what all the fuss was about. The day was all about bringing the community together and feeling & a sense of pride and ownership about their town, which is what MyTagMyTown is all about!

 As the kids competed their hearts out, showing off all of their incredible talents, with skateboards, bikes & fancy footwork flying through the air to win the great prizes, which included everything from brand new skateboards – and even a family pass to rainbows end!

Local community group Matamata Rotary Club who put on a great sausage sizzle – also presented plans for the new skate park to excited onlookers, which was part of the results from the Matamata Youth Survey carried out by AlphaMedia productions to see what would help youth feel more connected to their town.
