Have your say!Skate Park Fun Day

(30th of October 2010)

Creativity & talent was all abuzz at the Te Aroha Fun Day! Young & elderly gathered around the Skate Park as the sounds of modern Day Hip Hop echoed throughout the town of Te Aroha!

Jono Bay who was our MC for all of the MyTag Fun Days, had the youth of Te Aroha rocking to the music & displaying their gifted skills on their various forms of wheels – skateboards, scooters and bikes graced the Skate Park for at least 3 hours!

More great prizes like Skateboards, MyTag T-Shirts, cash prizes, and my Tag wrist bands were in demand to be won! A draw for the popular Rainbows End pass a result of kids who had signed their pledge cards not to tag, had every one holding their breath while they announced the winner, who came from Te Aroha Primary School.

While Art displays, chalk drawings & paintings were being done by many youth, the Te Aroha Lions Club were dancing to the music and cooking up a storm with a BBQ of free sausages & Drinks for all to enjoy! The desired objective to bring the community of all ages together was achieved successfully, with many asking when the next MyTag Fun Day would be!

To top the day off, local Graffiti Artists Alex McRae & his friend Garreth honored the final hours with the most spectacular artwork as a permanent display and memorial on the Skate park – this will be enjoyed for many years to come, and is very much the example of the difference between that of tagging & skillful artwork!
